With the rise of e-learning, subtitling has become an essential tool for facilitating effective learning and enabling people to learn in their own language.

One of the key benefits of subtitling in the e-learning industry is that it allows learners to access content in their own language. This is particularly important for learners who do not speak the language in which the content is originally created. By providing subtitles in a range of languages, e-learning platforms can reach a wider audience and make their content more accessible to learners around the world.

Another important benefit of subtitling in the e-learning industry is that it can enhance the learning experience.Subtitles can help learners to better understand the content and follow along with the lessons, which can lead to improved retention and recall of information. Subtitles can also help to clarify complex concepts and terminology, making it easier for learners to grasp difficult concepts and ideas.

Subtitling can also help to improve the accessibility of e-learning content for learners with disabilities. For example, learners who are deaf or hard of hearing may struggle to follow audio-only content, but by providing subtitles, e-learning platforms can make their content more accessible to these learners. Similarly, learners with visual impairments may benefit from subtitles, as they can use screen readers to access the content.

Proofreading

Proofreading is a crucial component of the e-learning industry, ensuring that educational content is accurate, error-free, and easy to understand. With the rise of e-learning, the demand for high-quality proofreading services has also increased, as more and more people turn to online platforms for learning and development.

One of the key benefits of proofreading in the e-learning industry is that it helps to ensure that content is accurate and free from errors. This is particularly important in educational content, where accuracy and precision are critical. A single error in a piece of educational content can lead to confusion and misunderstanding, potentially undermining the learning experience and the effectiveness of the content.

In addition to improving accuracy and reducing errors, proofreading can also help to improve the readability of e-learning content. By carefully reviewing and editing content, proofreaders can identify and correct awkward or confusing language, improve sentence structure, and enhance the overall flow and coherence of the content. This can make the content easier to read and understand, enhancing the learning experience for learners.

Proofreading can also help to ensure that e-learning content is culturally sensitive and appropriate for a diverse audience. By reviewing and editing content for cultural sensitivity, proofreaders can help to ensure that content is respectful and appropriate for learners from different backgrounds and cultures. This can help to create a more inclusive and welcoming learning environment, promoting diversity and inclusion in the e-learning industry.

Finally, proofreading can help to ensure that e-learning content is of the highest quality, reflecting well on the platform and the institution providing the content. By investing in high-quality proofreading services, e-learning platforms can differentiate themselves from competitors and establish themselves as leaders in the industry. This can help to build trust and credibility with learners, leading to increased engagement and uptake of e-learning programs.

Proofreading is a critical component in the e-learning industry, ensuring that content is accurate, error-free, and easy to understand. By investing in high-quality proofreading services, e-learning platforms can enhance the learning experience, improve the readability of content, promote cultural sensitivity and diversity, and establish themselves as leaders in the industry. As e-learning continues to grow in popularity, the demand for high-quality proofreading services is only likely to increase, making proofreading an essential investment for e-learning platforms and institutions.

Got a SCORM file and need to translate it?

You are at the right place. At skriptó, we can take your SCORM file, extract the files to translate and localize before sending you back the SCORM ready to be uploaded into your Learning Management System.

Are you using Articulate Rise?

Translation just got much easier! Here are the 4 steps to take to send us the files to be translated.

Step 1: Duplicate Your Content

The first step is to duplicate the content you want to translate. The duplicate you create will become the translated version. If you're translating into more than one language, make a copy for each.

Step 2: Export the Content as an XLIFF File

Open the duplicate content you created in the previous step. Click Settings in the upper right corner and go to the Translations tab.

If you don’t need to preserve formatting you’ve applied to your text, deselect Include HTML formatting. This exports your content in easy to translate blocks of text. However, it doesn’t contain the coding necessary to maintain any formatting you’ve applied to that content.

Click Export XLIFF File and save the file to your computer.

Then use skriptó's professional Translation Services to translate & localize your XLIFF file. If Include HTML formatting is selected above, you'll see additional HTML tags and extra spaces in your XLIFF file. Don't panic! These are there to preserve your formatting when you import your translated file in Step 3.

Note: Rise 360 uses XLIFF version 1.2.

Step 3: Import Translated Text

Got your newly-translated file? Great! Open your duplicate content again. Click Settings in the upper right corner, go to the Translations tab, and click Import Translated Text. Select your translated XLIFF file and click Open. A message displays when your text is successfully imported.

Step 4: Translate Your Labels

Don’t forget to have your buttons translated and other built-in navigation elements. Click Settings in the upper right corner and go to the Labels tab. For more information on how to translate labels, Need help? click here.

Already using an LMS?

Some LMS's on the market provide a built-in authoring tool that lets you create your own courses and learning paths like myskillcamp, Domoscio and of course 360learning.

These LMS should provide a file called XLIFF to enable us to translate your courses and for you to easily re-import it.

360learning

Are you using 360learning? Follow the next steps to export the XLIFF file before providing it to your translation partner, skriptó ❤️😇

Translate using an XLIFF file

As the course’s main Author or Co-author, you can use an XLIFF file to have your course translated by skriptó.

We can work on the XLIFF file without requiring access to your platform.

First, generate the XLIFF file:

  1. At the top of the home page, click Courses.
  2. On the right of the name of the course, click Edit course.
  3. Below Translators, click +
  4. Under the Actions column, click ***,
  5. Click Generate XLIFF file.

Then, translate the contents in the XLIFF file (the parts between the tags <target> and </target>).

Finally, import the translated XLIFF file on the platform:

  1. At the top of the home page, click Courses.
  2. On the right of the name of the course, click  Edit course.
  3. Below Translators, click +
  4. Under the Actions column, click ***,
  5. Click Import XLIFF File.

You can translate the title of documents (uploaded files, videos, or embedded documents from external sources) with the XLIFF export, but not the document itself. We suggest manually updating the translated version document in the translation interface, after having imported the translated XLIFF file.
